Meridian EDC presses pause on charging stations

The second reading for funding for the Chisholm Trail Plaza was heard during the June meeting of the Meridian EDC last Thursday. “The MEDC has previously funded $100,000 to the project that had been approved, and to amend the budget for an additional $55,694 that was needed to complete the project,” said Meridian EDC President Ron Rieke.

The smooth custard-like filling is used as a base for cream pies at his popular downtown bakery.

COVID-19 update

As of 11:50 p.m. Monday, the Texas DSHS reported 1,403 cases of COVID-19 had been confirmed in Bosque County, up 12 from last week, and an additional 317 cases were probable. 23 cases were active, and 1,660 individuals had fully recovered. The number of deaths in the county remained at 37.

Commissioners surplus distributor truck, file monthly reports

Bosque County commissioners accepted County Treasurer Carla Sigler’s quarterly investment report as presented during their weekly meeting Monday morning. Sigler said that in last quarter’s report, the MultiBank account was expiring and the county would move it to another account.

Clifton VFD asks for donations

Clifton VFD is asking for donations of snacks for when they respond to calls. They are asking for individually packaged cookies, beef jerky and trail mix so they can grab and go.

Bosque County arrest report and inmate transfers

-William Dewayne Simmons, of Hubbard, was arrested by Bosque County on July 2 for the possession of marijuana less than two ounces and a child support warrant failure to appear. -Christopher Michael Mackey, of Kopperl, was arrested by Bosque County on July 2 for assault Class C.
