Seniors parade

Clifton High School seniors will parade through downtown Clifton on Friday, May 14 at 6 p.m. Seniors will line up at the Blossom Shoppe at 5:30 and the parade will follow the traditional route through downtown.

COVID-19 update

Bosque County Emergency Management Coordinator Chris Anderson told Commissioners Court Monday he was approached by Health and Human Services last week to ask if there were any homebound, elderly or nursing home residents who had not received the COVID-19 vaccine. Anderson said he reached out to the nursing homes and other agencies excluding Senior Services to see if any residents who wanted the vaccine were unable to receive it.

Harr jumpstarts WAA in Clifton

At last Thursday’s Bosque Rotary Club, Clifton resident Kathy Harr talked about bringing Wreaths Across America to Clifton. Harr registered the three Clifton cemeteries for WAA at the end of last year and is working to expand the program this year.

VFW Post 8553 seeks members, plans Memorial Day events

The VFW is a fraternal organization of combat veterans and whose purpose is to serve and assist other veterans and promote civic responsibility in the community. VFW Post 8553 has members who served in WWII all the way up to Operation Iraqi Freedom and they work hard to keep the post’s mission going strong.

Meridian Parks and Rec unveils plans for Chisholm Trail Plaza

During a special session of the Meridian City Council last week, the Parks and Rec board presented their latest project to the council for approval. The proposed Chisholm Trail Plaza is a nearly 8,000 square feet family-friendly enclosure that will include amenities and public restrooms at Meridian Park.
