There were no new cases of COVID-19 reported in Bosque County over the weekend and the active case count continues to remain low. “For the last two weeks we’ve remained below 20 active cases in the county,” said Bosque County Emergency Management Coordinator Chris Anderson.

Meridian holds public hearing to discuss animal problems

On Tuesday, April 27, the Meridian City Council hosted a public hearing to receive comments concerning animal control procedures and plans in the city. A concerned resident came to Councilmember Jackye Hatley with a list of suggestions to improve the current animal control situation in Meridian.

-Tyler Zachery McKain, of Valley Mills, was arrested on April 23 for indecency with a child sexual contact. -Roberto Treto-Trinidad, of Waco, was arrested on April 23 for theft of property $100 or more but less than $750.

CHS students place first at school bus safety speech competition

Last week Clifton sophomore Cami Ivy and freshman Clay Kennedy traveled to Waco to compete at the state level speech competition for the Texas Association for Pupil Transportation. Students across Texas participated in the 20th annual Texas School Bus Safety Speech competition, including Amarillo, Irving, Royce City and Houston ISD, and Clifton walked away with two first place winners.

Seniors parade

Clifton High School seniors will parade through downtown Clifton on Friday, May 14 at 6 p.m. Seniors will line up at the Blossom Shoppe at 5:30 and the parade will follow the traditional route through downtown.
