Plans underway for new veterans memorial

Residents of Bosque County met for the second time Monday evening to continue the planning of a Veterans Memorial Park in Bosque County. Led by project coordinator Andrea Wallum, the group had previously discussed potential locations for the park, but after hearing from Buck Thomason, who was instrumental in planning the Veterans Memorial at Wade Lee City Park in Cranfills Gap, the group shifted focus to deciding criteria for the memorial.

‘Tails and Tales’ off to great start

Meridian Public Library’s summer reading program, Tails and Tales, began last Tuesday with Miss Erin reading Rainbow Fish to over a dozen kids. Local book accepted to NSDAR Library

The book, Three Months with the Wild Indians, A Brief Sketch of the Life of Ole T. Nystel, was accepted by the NSDAR Library in Washington D.C. The book donation acceptance was received by Bosque River Valley Chapter, NSDAR Librarian Susan Ferguson on May 25, 2021. Ferguson and Chapter Regent Sue Fielden both expressed their excitement to have a book pertaining to Norwegian history accepted by the NSDAR Library. COVID-19 update

At last week’s commissioners court meeting, Bosque County EMC Chris Anderson said he was hopeful the county could soon report that active cases had fallen into single digits. This week, Anderson was able to tell the court the county had achieved single digit active case numbers.
