Oct. 3-9 is National 4-H Week

Are you unfamiliar with 4-H? If so, 4-H is a youth organization that has thrived for over 100 years in the state of Texas. Through 4-H, youth are taught how to meet the diversities and challenges of today’s society by bringing together youth and adults to design programs that will teach skills for living. It reaches people in their own communities with delivery methods suitable to their needs. 4-H also helps to provide opportunities for families and communities to develop stronger bonds.

Three tips to recycle fall leaves

Many people are coming across top-grade fertilizer in their yard, then simply raking it up and tossing it to the curb. The underappreciated substance is fallen leaves, said Skip Richter, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service horticulture agent, Brazos County, and host of Garden Success, KAMU FM/HD-1.

Bosque County COVID-19 update

As of 2:15 p.m. Monday, the Texas DSHS reported 1,774 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Bosque County, with 579 probable cases. 139 cases were active while 2,163 had recovered. There have been 51 COVID-19 related deaths in Bosque County, up three from last week, since the start of the pandemic.

CHS Interact Club visits Rotary

Representatives of the Clifton High School Interact Club visited the Bosque Rotary Club last Thursday where club sponsor Ted Jones highlighted some of their upcoming projects. Along with Jones were two other faculty sponsors, Emma Burnside and Imilda Sarate.

‘Hissy Fit’ comedy opens Oct. 16th at BAC

Honky Tonk Hissy Fit, the third installment in the popular Doublewide, Texas stage series, opens for four performances over two weekends starting October 16 at the Tin Building Theatre in Clifton. A talented cast of popular stage veterans and newcomers will bring the hilarious trailer park gang back to the Bosque Arts Center’s in this rollicking sequel written by Jones, Hope and Wooten.
