Main Street packed with trick-or-treaters

Halloween night in Clifton had lots of characters roaming around downtown in search of tricks and treats at the annual Trick or Treat with Main Street event. With downtown business fronts fully decorated, owners and employees were dressed to celebrate the spooky festivities.

Debbie Stubbs, representing over 10,000 Quilts of Valor members and volunteers across the nation, presented Vietnam veteran SSG Thomas M. Oliver (Dec. 5, 1967- Dec. 5, 1969) with his own Quilt of Valor on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021, in recognition of his service to the country.

Local DAR Chapter makes donations

Four representatives of the Bosque River Valley Chapter, NSDAR delivered messages of gratitude, support and assurance of prayers to Bosque County law enforcement officers on Tuesday, Oct. 12. Donations of Gatorade and bottled water were also gifted. The four members included Chapter Regent Sue Fielden and Chapter Officers Carla Sigler, Mary Lou Starnater and Therissa Young.

Clifton VFW Post 8553 achieves All-American status

VFW Post 8553 of Clifton has been recognized as an All-American Post by the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States for the 2020-2021 year. This is the highest recognition that a post can receive, and according to longtime post members, this is the first time that this post has received this award.

Fun tricks and treats in Clifton starts Thursday

Looking for thrills and chills this Halloween? Clifton has you covered. The Bosque Film Society, in association with the CLIFTEX Theatre, is hosting its first themed film festival – the Halloween Free Film Fest, which will feature six different spooky and fun movies over four days, Oct. 28-31. In addition to watching the films, movie goers can also participate in a Halloween costume contest, raffles, sing-alongs and the premiere of the Bosque Film Society’s short film, GAL MANNS SKRIK (Norwegian for “Madman’s Scream”).
