Area writers win big with Books on the Bosque

The first writing contest held in conjunction with Books on the Bosque weekend yielded successful results for several area writers on Saturday, November 12, at the Bosque Arts Center. Kaitlyn Baker of Clifton High School took the top honors in the poetry division, while Theo Boyd of Whitney won first place in the nonfiction essay category.

Memorial looking for donations

Bosque Veterans Memorial project coordinator Andrea Wallum shared progress on the memorial with EDC members Located at the eastbound exit off Hwy 6 towards Meridian, the memorial has so far been funded by donations from individuals. Bosque County Jail status report: As of Monday, Nov. 14, Bosque County Jail had 45 inmates; six from Hamilton County and 12 from Coryell County. No cases of COVID-19 were reported between inmates or staff. The jail is minus one jailer, and the new staff nurse was to begin her duties Wednesday, Nov. 16.
