Dry spell, drought deepens across Texas

Soil moisture levels continue to decline in most areas of the state after a months-long dry spell as warm-season crop plantings and preparations increase. Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service agents and specialists have reported critically dry conditions in many parts of the state over the last several weeks.

Clifton High School senior Cambria Blanton took top honors at the BAC Art Council’s High School Student Art Show at the Bosque Arts Center for her pastel ‘Inside the Ring.’ Blanton placed first in her medium as well as Best of Show, for a total cash prize of $600.

First Presbyterian Church showcases congregational talent

With a congregation full of local talent, the First Presbyterian Church in Clifton has started featuring work from members in the fellowship hall, beginning with Elisabeth Montgomery’s watercolor collages inspired by women of the Bible as well as needle art and Jean Davis’ quilting and needlework.

BAC to host High School Student Art Show

The 19th annual High School Student Art Show reception on Sunday, March 6, from 2 p.m. - 3 p.m. at the Bosque Arts Center will showcase the work of young artists from area high schools. Open to the public, the reception will feature an awards presentation and refreshments.
