On January 29, the Bosque County Democratic Party hosted the Democratic Candidate tour for District 22 of the Texas Senate at the Old City Hall in Valley Mills. District 22 SD of the Texas Senate is a senatorial district that currently serves all of Bosque, Ellis, Falls, Hill, Hood, Johnson, McLennan, Navarro, Somervell counties and portions of Tarrant County in the U.S.

VFW Post 8553 of Clifton held an awards banquet on Saturday, Jan. 15 at the VFW Hall to present awards to Bosque County participants and winners in the 2021 VFW Voice of Democracy Contest.

On Monday, January 10, 2022, services for fallen Meridian Police Officer, Wayne “Butch” Nowell, were held at Meridian Civic Center. Officer Nowell perished in his home after complications from COVID-19 on December 29, 2021.

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Bosque County will be hosting a Private Applicators Pesticide training on Friday, February 4, 2022, located at 104 S Fuller in Meridian. Registration will begin at 8:15 a.m. with the training starting at 8:30 a.m. and continue until noon.

On November 13, 2021, Charlie Brooks, of Charlie’s Wrecker Service received the prestigious Order of Towman Award during the 32nd annual American Towman Exposition in Baltimore, Maryland. Charlie’s Wrecker Service was nominated by former Clifton Police Chief Mark Leger.
