A drive-thru live nativity attracted hundreds of folks to a church in Clifton on Sunday night, December 18. The organizers of “The Perfect Gift” nativity estimated that over 500 people traveled by motor vehicle through the church’s parking lot to see the story of Jesus Christ.

Renovations to the track at Meridian Independent School District are well underway. MISD athletic director Jim Kerbow gave further details on the installation of the new track during the Meridian ISD’s Board of Trustees meeting on Monday, December 12.

The Sterling C. Robertson Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas will meet at 1 p.m.

TxDOT and its contractor will conduct a full road closure on FM 217 for culvert installation on the roadway. To perform this operation safely, crews will shut down FM 217 from Farm Road 854 to FM 215.

The annual Food for Families Food Drive in Clifton collected over 40,000 pounds of food this year. The goal this year was to collect 35,000 pounds of food products that would sustain the local food bank during the winter months.

Meridian Elementary School held its winter program in the gym on Wednesday, December 15. With the lights dimmed, the gym was nearly packed with parents, guardians, and other relatives and family members.

A new team of young news reporters was showcased at the Meridian Independent School District’s Board of Trustees meeting on Monday, December 12. Prior to them leading the board in the Pledge of Allegiance, Meridian Elementary School Principal Jaime Leinhauser introduced the six members of Jacket News Network Team.

A mental health fair will be held at Clifton High School on Thursday, January 26, 2023. This fair will raise awareness about mental health to area students and the Bosque County community.
