The Cubs took a late lead and defeated Maypearl 7-6 on Saturday, April 9. The game was tied at six with the Cubs batting in the top of the seventh when Tristin Smith singled on a 2-2 count and scored a run.
Maypearl scored three runs in the first inning while the Cubs brought no one home, but the Cubs held Maypearl and scored one run to Maypearl’s zero in the second inning.
