Ruth Tucker, age 88, of Cranfills Gap, passed away on May 30, 2022, in Clifton.

Celebration of Life services were held on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Cranfills Gap. Renee’ Barner conducted the service. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at a later date.

Ruth loved her family, friends and her community. She resided in Cranfills Gap fifty-seven years. During that time she served her community in many ways, like being a key player in Septemberfest, Lutefisk Dinner, school functions and Mustang Valley Water. She was quoted in the Waco Tribune Herald as saying, “Living in a small community you get to know each other’s needs and you know when you are needed.” Many have memories of Sunday BBQs and roping at the Tucker Ranch. She loved road trips with her dear friends and maybe a little gossip. She enjoyed her morning coffee time at Tommy’s and took great pride in her job at Mustang Valley Water. Ruth was known to brag on her children and grandchildren. She spent many miles following them to fairs, rodeos and sporting events over the years. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. “A bushel and a peck and a hug around their neck.” In 2017, after 40 years at Mustang Valley Water, a grand party was held to celebrate her retirement and water well #1 was officially named Ruth Tucker Well. The last few years Ruth resided at Lutheran Sunset Ministries in Clifton. She brought great joy to fellow residents and staff as well. She loved her weekly Bingo games. It was another chapter in her life of bringing joy to others. She once said after being praised, “I just did not know I was loved that much.” Yes Ruth, you were loved by many and will be missed by all. Farewell to “The Water Lady.”

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Parks Tucker, III and wife, Kathy, Melissa Crow and husband, Jim and Steven Tucker; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Parks Tucker, IV and wife, Lauren, Sloan, Slayton, Sutton, Skylynn, Ryon Tucker, Morgan Huitt and husband, Todd, Briley and Hayes, Houston Tucker and Keeleah Donnell, Brooke Tucker; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
