Roy Everett Malone

Roy Everett Malone passed away in his sleep on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.  The 93-year-old relocated in 2021 after living in Granbury since 1980 with wife Wyleta Malone (dec’d 2019).

Roy was born April 2, 1928, in Iredell to Zoe and Charlie Malone.  He attended Meridian schools and also studied at Texas A&M.  He married Vera Wyleta Anderson of Meridian in 1949.  Roy was a WWII Army veteran and an avid bowler and golfer – he hit a hole-in-one at DeCordova Bend in the early 2000s.  His decades-long true passion was genealogy, and he published a reference book on his wife’s Anderson family. 

Roy will be greatly missed by family and loved ones.

Survived by daughter, Ellen Malone of Ft Worth; sons, James Malone of New York, NY and Patrick Malone, DDS, and wife Shelley Smith Malone of Ft Worth; granddaughter, Heather Vowell and great grandson, Anthony Vowell, both of Ft. Worth.

There will be a small, private graveside service at Spring Creek.
