Montrel “MD” Davis Shrader Wallace, 77, went home to be with the Lord on December 21, 2021, at St. David’s Medical Center in Austin. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 23, from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. at Patton Baptist Church. Services will follow immediately after with Brother Pat Cummings officiating.

MD was born on September 20, 1944, to Montrel Davis and Mary May (Franklin) Shrader in Clifton. She attended Moshiem School until its closing and transferred over to Valley Mills High School. She went on to beauty school in Waco and absolutely loved it.

Her career as a beautician was short-lived when she met the love of her life, Robert “Maxie” Wallace, on a blind date during the summer of 1963. They married on May 2, 1964, at Searsville Baptist Church in Valley Mills. The two of them then began traveling the world as Maxie started his military career. She held the higher rank maintaining the household and raising their three children. She treasured her family and would do anything for them. After decades of “their” military career, they settled in their home in Clifton, near family and friends.

She worked for the Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home for many, many years. She never met a stranger and made friends wherever she went. Among many things she loved shopping, traveling, meeting people and being with her family. Her family was her most prized possession.

Preceding MD in death are her parents and siblings. She is survived by her husband, Robert Maxie Wallace; and children Doyle Wallace (Lesley) of South Boston, VA, Dean Wallace of Clifton, and Wanda Johnson (Kelly) of Waco. She has six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and many other dear family members.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to St. David's Medical Center, for their care of Mother and her family.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to Patton Baptist Church, 6677 Chisholm Trail, Valley Mills, TX 76689.
