Mary Ruth Ward Anderson
August 3, 1938 - November 24, 2021

Mary Ruth Ward Anderson was born in Dike, Texas, to Oran and Zelda Ward.  Here is where she started her journey in life.  She graduated when she was 16 years old but left home when she was 18 years old.  She moved to Dallas to be on her own.  She met her love of her life in Dallas, Shelby J. Anderson.  They married on September 21, 1956.  They had one daughter, Marilyn J. Anderson Pippin.  From Dallas they moved to Clifton while Shelby when off to war.
Mary had several jobs, mainly secretary/accounting positions.  She and her husband were members of the American Legion Post 322 for over 50 years.  She was President, Vice President, Secretary and any other office that came along.  She helped out with all fundraisers that the American Legion hosted.  Mary also took sweets to the disabled/wounded veterans when the VA Medical Center in Waco was a hospital.  She tried to bring a smile to the veterans there.

She believed in God and family first.  She held her friends close to her heart also.  In her leisure time, she enjoyed going to the lake and water skiing, fishing, being with family and enjoyed planting plants.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Oran and Zelda Ward, and her husband Shelby J. Anderson.

Survivors are daughter, Marilyn J. Pippin; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Amber and Casey Heintz; and great-grandchildren Branson and Shelby Heintz.

Pending is a private memorial at the Clifton Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
