Kathern (Hollingshead) Caughron

Kathern (Hollingshead) Caughron, age 82, of Burleson and formerly of Morgan, passed away on January 23, 2022, in Fort Worth. 

Funeral services were 3 p.m., Friday, January 28, 2022, at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian. Bro. Colin Errington officiated. Burial followed at the Morgan Cemetery. Visitation with family and friends was from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Thursday, January 27, 2022, also at Lawson Funeral Home. Pallbearers were her grandchildren, Josh Seay, Jeremy Seay, Dustin Caughron, Patrick Caughron, Christa Vasquez and Brittaney Deaton. 

Kathern Marie Hollingshead was born on May 5, 1939, in Calumet, Oklahoma to Harlen and Omyniese Brown Hollingshead. She was raised around Midwest City, Oklahoma until she moved to Morgan in 1960 where she met her husband, Hobert Caughron. They were united in marriage on October 20, 1960, in Morgan. The couple was married for 37 years until he passed away in 1997. Kathern was a housewife and mother. Morgan ISD employed Kathern as an aid for several years before taking over as the school's cook. She retired in 2004 after 25 years of service. Kathern was well known throughout the school district for her cooking, especially her homemade cinnamon rolls or homemade rolls. When in her cafeteria it was her rules. She never let a child go without something to eat even if that meant she needed to fix them just a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. After retirement she enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends. Often times you could find Kathern watching movies, especially the John Wayne ones. Beside watching movies she really enjoyed putting puzzles together.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Mindia Seay and husband, Ricky, of Morgan, Amber Zeleny and husband, Shawn, of Burleson, Glen Caughron and wife, Regina, of Meridian; brothers, Arlan Hollingshead of Everman, Albert Hollingshead of Moore, Oklahoma; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and many friends.

Preceded in death by her husband, Hobert Caughron; sons, Wilson Caughron, Donald Caughron, Jimmy Caughron; daughter-in-law, Peggy Caughron; parents, Harlen and Omyniese Hollingshead; brother, CW Hollingshead; sister, Sue Crites; grandmother, Effie Donoho; and great-grandsons, Dylan Caughron and Grayson Gonzales.
