October 31, 1934, to August 31, 2021 

Jean passed away at home on August 31t, 2021, at the age of 86 after her courageous battle with cancer. 

Jean grew up in Crawford and married Jimmie Peveto where the two of them had three children and traveled the world. Jimmie was in the U.S. Air Force and their travels led them to Wisconsin, England, France, Montana, Spain, Maine, Massachusetts, Philippines, Thailand and finally back to Arlington where he retired. 

Jimmie and Jean settled for a while in Clifton where they opened up Peveto’s Buffet in the 1990’s. They then moved to DeRidder, Louisiana in 1993 to be with family.  Jimmie and Jean returned to Gatesville where they again retired and lived until Jimmie’s passing in 2004.  Jean moved back to Clifton for a few years and then to the Lake Whitney area before moving to Gulf Shores, Alabama, to be with her daughter in 2017. 

Jean is preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Ella Westerfield; her husband Jimmie Peveto of 50 years; and her sister Margie and brother in law Thomas (Buzz) Tucker. 

Jean is survived by her son David Peveto; daughter Vicki and husband Melvin Lowdermilk; and son Bill and wife Kim Peveto. 

Jean has six grandchildren - Danny and wife Crystal Reynolds, Michael and wife Dana Edwards, Matthew  Edwards, Jessica Simpson, Lisa Peveto Cary and husband Charlie Joe Cary, and Cody and wife Megan Peveto. 

Jean also has six great grandchildren – Destiny Reynolds, Lily Edwards, Logan Edwards, Brooke Cary, Ben Cary and Ava Kate Peveto. 

Jean is survived by numerous cousins, nieces and a nephew.
