James Charles White

November 10, 1931 – May 4, 2021

James Charles “J.C.” White claimed the promise of his baptism Tuesday morning, May 4.  He was 89.

Born in the Norse Community in Bosque County, J.C. was the son of Johnnie R. and Clara Finson White.  He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Cranfills Gap in 1947.

J.C. earned his BBA degree from North Texas State College, now the University of North Texas, in 1953.  After graduating, he was employed in the Trust Dept. by the Fort Worth National Bank, now JP Morgan Chase.  His formal education continued with graduation in 1975 from the ABA Trust School at Northwestern University.

In 1954, he was drafted in the U. S. Army and served two years with the 1st Cavalry Division in Sendai, Japan.

J.C. and Mary Joan Russell were united in marriage on August 12, 1961 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Worth.  He and Mary Joan were married for 30 years before her death in 1992.

He retired from banking in 1997 after serving his trust customers for 43 years.  Then J.C. became an active volunteer for the SCORE organization, which is part of the Small Business Administration.  He also used his retirement time to benefit from the opportunity for great travel experiences.

Because of family, friends, volunteer time, travel and trust banking, J.C. had a complete life.  May his memory be blessed.

Special thanks are given to the staff and friends at Senior Care of Stonegate and St. Gabriel’s Hospice for their many kindnesses and support given to J.C.

He is survived by his brother, Roy from Wichita, Kansas, and his family and his longtime friend and caregiver, Bob Thompson.

A service at the grave will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Greenwood Memorial Park.  His service will be recorded and placed on the funeral home’s website, robertsonmuellerharper.com, for those unable to attend.

In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to the Endowment Fund at Trinity Lutheran Church or Senior Care of Stonegate, in his memory, are suggested.

Arrangements were made by Robertson Mueller Harper Funerals, Cremations & Life Celebrations, 1500 Eighth Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76104, 817-924-4233.
