Charles Elton (Buster) Stevens, 93, of Clifton, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 5, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at Clifton Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Clifton Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before service at 10:00 a.m.

Buster was born July 4, 1928, in Morton. He was the son of Elton Verner Stevens and Iva Mae Lackey. He was raised in Oklahoma and Morton. He attended school in Morton. Buster married Doris Stevens on August 20, 1949, in Morton.

Buster spent many years working on road construction all over Texas. He joined his dad at his company, Stevens Motor Implement, in Clifton, which he later purchased.

Buster and Doris lived in Lubbock, Morton, Walnut Springs and then bought their farm in Hamilton County near Cranfills Gap in 1958.  They raised three children there.

He loved watching his kids play all their sports and activities and he never missed a ball game. Buster, known as Pa, loved following his grandchildren and great grandchildren in all their sports.  He was one of their biggest supporters and challenged them every day to do their best. He loved coaching Gap Little League baseball teams. Dad played outsiders softball and volleyball and enjoyed every game. He had a love for golf and played many courses all over Texas and many other states. Buster and Doris loved traveling with several of their golfing buddies.

Buster is preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Doris Stevens; his parents; stepmom Lee Stevens; step dad Jack Burke; son Shelton Stevens; granddaughter Jamie Dittrich; and two brothers, Kenneth Burke and Dewayne Burke.

Buster is survived by his daughters Ann Dittrich of Fort Worth and Dewana McMillan and husband Anthony of Clifton; brother Pen Tom Burke of Gainesville; grandchildren, Shae McMillan and wife Cheryl, Jenny Garza, James Dittrich and wife Courtney, Kimberly Kelly, Leigh Ann Poulter and husband JoeDan; great-grandchildren, Beth Ann McMillan, Ella Garza, Kameryn Kelly, Baily McMillan, Cody Dittrich, Peyton Kelly, Brady Dittrich, Reed Dittrich, Beau Poulter and River Poulter.
