FEMA funds nearly $3 billion to protect from extreme weather

FEMArecently announced the selections for nearly $3 billion in funding through two competitive grant programs to protect communities from extreme weather events. In FEMA Region 6, this includes nine BRIC national competition selections for $120.5 million and 68 community-wide selections for $333.1 million in Flood Mitigation Assistance.

Project coordinator Andrea Wallum informed the committee’s trustees that RMB Monuments received the first downpayment ($10,000) on May 18, 2023.

Meridian City Council adopts 2023-24 budget, tax rate

The Meridian City Council unanimously adopted the city’s 202324 budget and tax rate during its called meeting on Monday, September 25, at the Senior Center in Meridian. During the public comment period, the City of Meridian’s consultant Jerry Golden presented the $2.38 million budget with all the council members and the mayor present for the recorded vote.
