The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports influenza vaccinations can reduce frequency of the flu and can also reduce symptoms that might be confused with those of COVID-19.

Rabies case reported in Meridian

Meridian officials are reminding citizens to be alert as one case of rabies has been confirmed inside the city limits. City officials issued the alert last week of the case after a cat tested positive for rabies and are reminding citizens to ensure their pets’ vaccines are up-to-date.

House fire kills two

Fire Marshall Davis Vestley, out of Waco, and local officials continue to investigate the the cause of a house fire that took the lives of two Bosque Count residents over the weekend. Names of the deceased are not being released at this time.

Meridian Parks and Recreation/Grassroots volunteers paint the handrails that were installed last year at the Memorial Library Building on North Main Street and at the Meridian Civic Center, on Wednesday, Sept. 30. Meridian library offers curbside service, Laguna Park library struggling

Oh the irony! While the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic opened up vast opportunities to crack open a good book -- it’s causing problems for some of the very places to get the tomes! The Meridian Public Library came up with one solution after the pandemic closed the library’s location recently. “The library is currently offering curbside serving to our patrons to check out books, DVDs and audio-books, as well as printing and fax services,” library officials stated on the Meridian Public Library’s catalogue page, found at meridian.biblionix.com/catalog.
