CHS students place first at school bus safety speech competition

Last week Clifton sophomore Cami Ivy and freshman Clay Kennedy traveled to Waco to compete at the state level speech competition for the Texas Association for Pupil Transportation. Students across Texas participated in the 20th annual Texas School Bus Safety Speech competition, including Amarillo, Irving, Royce City and Houston ISD, and Clifton walked away with two first place winners.

Seniors parade

Clifton High School seniors will parade through downtown Clifton on Friday, May 14 at 6 p.m. Seniors will line up at the Blossom Shoppe at 5:30 and the parade will follow the traditional route through downtown.

Tin Building Theatre presents Bad Medicine

The stage could seldom provide the drama experienced over the past year as COVID-19 restrictions repeatedly postponed and recast the Bosque Arts Center Tin Building Theatre production of the Michael Tennant comedy, Bad Medicine. Fast forward a year and the play will finally reach local audiences beginning May 14 for four performances featuring none other than Tennant himself in the leading role.

Healing veterans and helping the environment go hand-in-hand

What does helping the environment have to do with veterans suffering from psychological trauma brought about by their combat experience? A lot, actually. That is because one organization, Help Heal Veterans (Heal Vets), is busy delivering thousands of arts-and-crafts therapy kits to veterans each month, and most kits are made largely from recycled materials.
