Commissioners court ups treasurer’s bond

The Bosque County Commissioners Court approved setting the newly-elected Bosque County treasurer’s bond to the maximum legal limit during its regular meeting on Monday, November 28, in Meridian. Approved by a 4-0 vote, the bond amount totaled $65,176.01 after a motion made by Bosque County Judge Cindy Vanlandingham and seconded by Precinct 3 Commissioner Larry Philipp.

Siglers come headto- head with $1.47M judgment

On November 13, 2022, the Alaska Office of Elder Fraud and Assistance won a $1.47M judgement against defendants James Vernon and Carla Sigler, formerly of Yakutat, now living in Bosque County, for the financial exploitation of Yakutat resident Neva Ogle.

Lions Club breaks pancake ticket record

The Clifton Lions Club reported an increase in its ticket sales for its annual fall pancake supper. The total tickets sold reached 664 – up from 532 from the pancake supper in February 2022.

CES Honors Choir to perform at Civic Society

The Clifton Elementary School’s Honors Choir is to perform during the Clifton Civic Improvement Society’s meeting on Wednesday, December 7. The public is invited to listen to the choir and stay for the meeting, starting at 2 p.m.

CISD online survey open for parents

Parents and guardians of students who are currently enrolled in Clifton Independent School District can submit feedback online anonymously to the district through the end of the current semester. A new online survey is now open with the intention to assist the district’s staff in improving the culture at each of the three campuses.

Candy Cane Classic attracts 528 entries

The Kynadi Buzbee Candy Cane Classic ran 528 animals through show ring at the Central Texas Youth Fair Grounds in Clifton on Saturday, November 26. The Classic is a benefit livestock show for the Kynadi Buzbee Memorial Livestock Scholarship.
