Texas A&M AgriLife Research to lead Texas’ ‘climate-smart’ efforts

Meridian mayor, MEDC discuss new staff position

Meridian Mayor Ryan Nieuwenhuis recently approached the Meridian Economic Development Corporation’s board of directors about possibly creating a new staff position that would promote the City of Meridian’s events and activities. The new position proposed could operate as an employee of the MEDC or through a new department under the City of Meridian, such as an affiliate of the Texas Main Street program, the mayor said, during the board’s regular meeting at the Meridian Senior Center on Thursday, January 19.

Texas map released identifying areas eligible for Internet funding

The Texas Broadband Development Office (BDO) released a map that will assist eligible communities interested in improving their Internet services in Texas. The Texas Broadband Development Map uses data collected from internet service providers (ISPs) to show the availability of various types of highspeed internet access across Texas.
