Despite losing every non-district match they played during the 2022 Texas high school volleyball season, the Lady Jackets enter each district clash expecting to win.

Taking the field every week as the smallest 11man football team in Texas, the Meridian Yellow Jackets have faced their challenges head on from the opening kickoff in every game during the 2022 Texas high school football season. Coming off a 49-0 loss to the Wortham Bulldogs, the Jackets will face yet another stout District 102A, Division II opponent when Meridian (0-2 in district, 0-6 overall) hosts the Dawson Bulldogs at 7 p.m.

To say the Meridian cross country team has grown would be a slight understatement, from three to more than 16 student runners. Those students meeting outside the Meridian High School at 6 a.m.

Sometimes, one victory can turn a season around. And certainly, that phenomenon has proven true for the Meridian Lady Jacket volleyball program.

The Clifton cross country teams’ confidence is high going into next week’s big district meet in Keene said coach Ryan Hunt. Both boys and girls teams have won first place in back-to-back meets, one in Crawford mid-September and the other last week in Moody.
