On Friday, September 18th, 2020, Robert N. Creech, age 74, passed away peacefully at home with his soul mate and wife of forty years, Kathi.

Robert was born in Eunice, Louisiana, to Edward and Lexie Lou Creech. He was raised in Denver City, Texas, where he graduated in 1964.

He attended Baylor University from 1964 to 1966 and then served in the US Navy aboard the USS Ranger from 1966 until his honorable discharge in 1970. Robert was proud to serve our country. He then returned to Baylor University and graduated in 1972.

Robert was a man that, whatever the job at hand, used his work ethic and knowledge to meet any challenge and always gave his best. His passion was farming and ranching in Texas. After twenty years, it was time for him to retire from that life and to follow his childhood dream of moving to Colorado.

A month in the mountains was the family vacation most of his childhood, and so, in 1998, he and Kathi relocated to Pagosa Springs and have relished their time here since. Robert worked at Pine Valley Rental, Archuleta County Assessor’s office and the Town of Pagosa Springs Parks before retiring. He was called “Caretaker” by many. He enjoyed being a mentor and was always there with a smile.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Carrie Williams Creech. He is survived by his wife, Kathi Creech, her parents Frank and Melba Salerno, siblings Richard Creech and wife Jane, Sandra Tidmore and husband Eugene, Margaret Killian and husband Bill, Ronnie Creech and wife Molly and their children, our Minchew Family - Bob, Annie, Matthew, Christopher, Mary and Robert. Robert deeply and profoundly loved all his adopted families and friends.

For those who knew Robert, you know he loved to tell a good story. Come join us in a Celebration of Robert’s life and share your favorite story or memory of Robert, to be held October 10th, at 1:30, at Yamaguchi Park Terrazzo.

Kathi request that any donations in memoriam be sent to Pagosa Springs Medical Center.
