Garland “Rocky” Rummel
Garland “Rocky” Rummel, 68, of Clifton, passed away Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018, at Providence Hospice Place in Waco. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11 at First Baptist Church, Clifton with Dr. Jerry Smith officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, at Clifton Funeral Home.
Rocky was born Oct. 12, 1949, in Waco to Charles and Tina (Crockett). At the age of 4, he moved to Clifton where he attended school and graduated from Clifton High School in 1968.
He was well known in the community as the owner and operator of Rocky’s Lock and Key, and for doing small engine repair. Some of his hobbies included fishing, boating, spending time with his grandchildren, grilling and taking road trips. Rocky also enjoyed fixing things for people. He was very active in the Clifton Fire Department where he served around 10 years as assistant fire chief for a total of 24 years with the department. He was a member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Garland Lee Rummel II and brother Charles Ray Rummel.
He is survived by his wife Kasandra Rummel; children Henry Rummel, Leslie Rummel, Kimberly Pennington and husband Ross, Melody Rummel, Jennifer Bluer and husband Paul, Misha Watley, John Sadler III and wife Connie, Raymond M. Sadler, Jr.; grandchildren Aiden and Kyleigh Bluer, Joshua Rummel, Christopher Ragsdale, Michelle Sadler, Jayden Sadler, Taylor, Case, and Colt Pennington, Michael Stewart, Katie Lee, Kalyssa Stewart.
