Betty June Thomas, 78, of Clifton, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at Lutheran Sunset Ministries. Funeral services were held Friday, July 3, 2020 at Clifton Funeral Home. Burial followed at Clifton Cemetery. Visitation was held Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Clifton Funeral Home.

Betty June Quillen Thomas was born June 11, 1942 to parents James Allen Quillen and Bertha Lou Dyer Quillen in Lawrence County, Tenn.

Betty worked for Safeway Grocery and retired after 20 years. After her time at Safeway, she worked as a bank teller for 6 years. She had a love for all animals and especially loved horses and trail riding. She was a hard-working, fun-loving and quick-witted lady who could make people laugh out loud. Betty volunteered and was on the board of the DeSoto Tri-City Animal Shelter, DeSoto Outreach, and others. She was a Paul Harris Fellow of the DeSoto Rotary Club, and a member of the Bosque County Cowboy Church. She was preceded in

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Allen and Bertha Lou Dyer Quillen; two brothers, Lee Allen Quillen, Jimmy Ray Quillen, and four sisters, Martha Jane McDonald, Jo Ann Johnson, Barbara Dell Gable, Judith Carrol Russ.

She is survived by her husband, David Thomas; son, Lorne Freeman and wife, Sherrie; granddaughters, Sarah Freeman Savage, Shelby Freeman, and Shaylee Freeman; two greatgrandsons, Sawyer and Jackson Savage; sister, Glenda Sue Hill of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; brother, Wallace Aaron Quillen (Ann) of Spring Hill, Tenn.; and many nieces and nephews.
