S ome consumers have recently been getting text messages stating that a major delivery carrier needs them to “update delivery preferences” on a package by clicking a link. The problem? The text is a scam and the link results in the theft of personal information.

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar said state sales tax revenue totaled $3.69 billion in February, .05 percent more than in February 2023. The majority of February sales tax revenue is based on sales made in January and remitted to the agency in February.

Riley Brittain of Cranfills Gap achieved the President’s List at Howard Payne University in the fall 2023 semester. Brittain was among the 214 students recognized for their academic excellence last fall.

John Gardner of Clifton was among the 2,122 students named to Samford University’s Dean’s List for the fall 2023 semester. To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework.
