COVID cases surpass 400 in Bosque County

According to the Texas Department of Health and Human Services, Bosque County experienced a significant increase to 405 COVID-19 cases as of October 26, 2020. This was an increase of 20 over the previous week and there was one additional death in the county, bringing total deaths to 11 since March. According to the TX DHHS data there are currently 44 active cases in the county.

DAR supports local law enforcement

The members of the Bosque River Valley Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, support and encourage our Law Enforcement Officers. On October 13, they delivered a supply of Powerade and Bottled water to all nine Law Enforcement offices in Bosque County.

MISD reports 1st postive COVID case in student since August

Meridian Independent School District Superintendent Kim Edwards posted a letter to MISD parents and staff on the school’s official Facebook page on Thursday, Oct. 15, reporting one student had tested positive for the Coronavirus (COVID- 19) earlier in the month.

Sunset Home opens to visitors for first time in 7 months

Lutheran Sunset Ministries recently opened its facilities to visitors, allowing residents to have physical contact with their loved ones for the first time in seven months. Residents may designate up to two essential caregivers who may be family members, friends, or other individuals.

One killed in crash

One died and three other were transported to hospitals in critical condition after a crash involving six motorcycles and a truck last weekend. Names have not been released as next of kin had not been notified as of Tuesday, Oct.

Local COVID-19 cases, deaths increasing

As of 10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 13, the Bosque County Emergency Management Office and officials with the Texas Department of State Health Services' Region 7 reported eight additional cases of Bosque County residents testing positive for COVID-19 and another fatality, as well.
