As of 12:55 p.m. Monday, the Texas DSHS reported 1,377 cases of COVID-19 had been confirmed in Bosque County, up only one from last week, and an additional 311 cases were probable. Only 11 cases were active, and 1,643 individuals had fully recovered. The number of deaths in the county remains at 34.

Kennedy speaks at Memorial Day ceremony

Rain may have moved the annual VFW and American Legion Memorial Day ceremony from the Clifton Cemetery to the American Legion Hall Monday, but it did not deter the community from turning out to honor those who gave their life for their country.

Bill Beck graduated from Syracuse High School in Indiana in 1946 as salutatorian of his class and was awarded an academic scholarship as he enrolled at Indiana University. Before graduating in 1950 he was accepted into the Indiana University School of Law while majoring in political science and economics.

On Friday, May 21 Meridian High School Seniors attended a picnic luncheon in their honor at the First United Methodist Family Life Center in Meridian. Courtesy of the Methodist Women’s group, students enjoyed barbeque sandwiches with all the trimmings, punch and dessert.
