The Chisholm Chili Cookoff comes to Bosque Bottoms in Meridian this weekend. The fun starts Friday with music, contests and a Free Outdoor Movie featuring the John Wayne classic western, Chisum.

Bosque County arrest report

-Dayton Scott Kunkel, of Alvarado, was arrested by Bosque County on June 4 for the possession of a controlled substance Penalty Group 2 four grams or more but less than 400 grams. -Jacqueline Faye Brown, of Clifton, was arrested by Clifton PD on June 8 for the possession of a controlled substance Penalty Group 1 less than one gram and the possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bosque County COVID-19 update

As of 2:10 p.m. Monday, the Texas DSHS reported 1,379 cases of COVID-19 had been confirmed in Bosque County and an additional 313 cases were probable. Only 5 cases were active, and 1,652 individuals had fully recovered. The number of deaths in the county remains at 35.

Splish Splash

Meridian Elementary School teacher Robin Baucom and a group of third grade students presented their Splash Park Community Project to the Meridian City Council Monday evening. “Our students have used their scientific skills to develop a model of the splash pad,” said Baucom.

Williams speaks at town hall

Congressman Roger Williams (TX-25) held a town hall meeting in Meridian last Tuesday where he discussed issues important to the Republican Party.
