Local baker shares skills with BAC Culinary Club

Paul Morales, owner and baker at Clifton’s Breaking Bread Bakery and Deli, delighted members of the Bosque Arts Center Culinary Club on Thursday, July 15 with a fascinating demonstration making pastry cream. The smooth custard-like filling is used as a base for cream pies at his popular downtown bakery.

As of 11:50 p.m. Monday, the Texas DSHS reported 1,403 cases of COVID-19 had been confirmed in Bosque County, up 12 from last week, and an additional 317 cases were probable. 23 cases were active, and 1,660 individuals had fully recovered. The number of deaths in the county remained at 37.

Bosque County commissioners accepted County Treasurer Carla Sigler’s quarterly investment report as presented during their weekly meeting Monday morning. Sigler said that in last quarter’s report, the MultiBank account was expiring and the county would move it to another account.

-William Dewayne Simmons, of Hubbard, was arrested by Bosque County on July 2 for the possession of marijuana less than two ounces and a child support warrant failure to appear. -Christopher Michael Mackey, of Kopperl, was arrested by Bosque County on July 2 for assault Class C.
