Van Wilks ushers return of live music at Arts Center’s ‘Burgers and Blues’

Internationally acclaimed blues guitarist and Texas Music Hall of Famer Van Wilks brought his enormous talents and storied music history to a sold-out crowd June 26th during the Bosque Arts Center’s Burgers and Blues concert. The twohour set marked a welcomed return for live music at the BAC following a dry spell during COVID-19 restrictions the past year.

Bosque County arrest report

-Alvaro Benito Cardona, of Meridian, was arrested by Bosque County on June 11 for aggravated sexual assault. -Jennifer Lynn Allen, of Temple, was arrested on June 11 by Bosque County for resisting arrest or search, making a terroristic threat and interfering with public duties.

Texas dairy production faring well despite setbacks

Texas dairy producers are experiencing better prices and improving market conditions as the economy continues to emerge from the pandemic, but processing limitations are holding them back, according to a Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service expert.

Bosque County COVID-19 update

As of 1:15 p.m. Monday, the Texas DSHS reported 1,380 cases of COVID-19 had been confirmed in Bosque County and an additional 313 cases were probable. Only 3 cases were active, and 1,654 individuals had fully recovered. The number of deaths in the county rose by one to 36.

Meridian receives clean audit report

Emergency order issued to restrict movement of deer from breeding facilities where CWD has been detected

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has issued an emergency order to impose additional movement and testing restrictions on deer breeding facilities that are affiliated with six deer breeding facilities where Chronic Wasting Disease has been positively detected. Existing rules already restrict the movement of deer from 264 sites in 95 counties that are directly linked to these CWD-positive facilities, but further measures are necessary given the gravity of this situation.
