Commissioners hear from solar farm, MHMR reps

During Monday’s regular session of commissioners court, Nicko Keene of Cypress Creek, representing the Angus Solar and Langer Solar projects, made a presentation to the court. Cypress Creek currently operates the Walnut Springs and Yellow Jacket solar farms and is in the process of two larger projects in Bosque County.

Bosque County arrests and inmate transfers

-Keaton William Brett Smith, of Cranfills Gap, was arrested by Bosque County on July 10 for tampering with or fabricating physical evidence and resisting arrest, search or transport. -Jarred Allen Borth, of Walnut Springs, was arrested by Bosque County on July 11 for intoxication assault.

Sheriff’s office keeps firm hand in narcotics investigations

Bosque County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigators recently conducted an investigation on the trafficking of narcotics, specifically methamphetamine. Investigators were able to identify and purchase the drug from a number of dealers in Bosque and McLennan Counties.

Meridian mourns loss of mayor

The City of Meridian released a statement Monday morning saying Mayor Johnnie Hauerland passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021, from complications from COVID-19. A graveside service will be held for Mayor Hauerland on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Sealy, Texas.

McDowell fills seat as new City Administrator

David McDowell is Clifton’s new City Administrator and he’s no novice to the position or Bosque County. McDowell has lived in Bosque County since 2000 with his wife BJ and sons Michael and Dayton, but he started his municipal career in Lancaster in 1988 before working for the city of Burleson and Parks and Recreation in 1997.
