McCamey named Collections manager

Bosque County Genealogical Society Quarterly/Newsletter Editor, professional genealogist and published author, LeAnne McCamey, has been hired as the Bosque County Historical Commission Collection Manager as of 23 Aug 2021. New Collection hours will be Monday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Corp of Engineers speaks on Uncle Gus’ future through bankruptcy

The West Shore Civic Association in Laguna Park invited Army Corp of Engineers Lake Manager Abraham Phillips to speak at their meeting on Tuesday, August 8. The community is hurting over the turmoil currently surrounding the closing of Uncle Gus’ Marina and hoped Phillips could shed some light on the situation and a large crowd gathered to hear his input.

Bosque County EMC Kirk Turner addressed commissioners court Monday morning, saying as positive cases of COVID-19 continue to rise in Bosque County and beyond, trauma beds were nonexistent in Trauma Region 7. Additionally, trauma beds were scarce across the state.
