2021 Clifton Homecoming this Friday

Clifton’s annual Homecoming Parade is tonight at 6:30 p.m., starting in the visitor’s parking lot at Cub Stadium. The route will turn left on Mary, right on M., right on Pecan and right again back onto Q to end in the visitor’s parking lot.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month was launched nationwide in October of 1987 as a way to connect and unite individuals and organizations working on domestic violence issues while also raising awareness for those issues. Much progress has been made over the years to support domestic violence victims and survivors and to create and update legislation to protect victims while holding abusers accountable.

TBT Opens ‘Honky Tonk’ comedy this weekend

“Honky Tonk Hissy Fit,” the third installment in the popular “Doublewide, Texas” stage trilogy, opens at the Bosque Arts Center on Saturday and runs for four performances over two weekends. The comedy, written by playwrights Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten, features a talented cast of Tin Building Theatre stage veterans as well as several new faces.

20th annual FallFest this weekend in Historic Downtown Clifton

The City of Clifton and Clifton Main Street volunteers invite everyone out to Historic Downtown Clifton for the 20th Annual FallFest on October 16th. Clifton’s beautiful, historic downtown avenues will be the site of fall fun for everyone! Hundreds of merrymakers join the festivities each year to sample fabulous food, see amazing performances, and shop among the treasure trove of markets, boutiques, and antique stores as well as a bevy of statewide vendors. FallFest is a celebration of Clifton’s Cornucopia of Heritages in Historic Downtown, shining a giant spotlight on the many attractions and talents that Clifton offers. It is Texas Culture – Texas Style, and a fun-filled day has been planned for the entire family!

Commissioners award bids, approve contracts

Meridian Parks and Recreation Board Member Jack Cameron spoke regarding the First Responder Appreciation Dinner on September 29. Cameron said 125 first responders attended. $168 was raised and it cost $1.34 to feed each first responder. All remaining funds were used to buy supplies for next year’s dinner, which will be held on the third Thursday of September 2022. Cameron also thanked the commissioners for their participation
