On Feb. 8, Clifton City Council called to order a regular session meeting.

Clifton Elementary School is excited to announce their Night at the Museum Open House and Pre-K/K Round-Up to take place on Tuesday, February 22, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. It is sure to be a JURASSIC event!

The Clifton School Board met in regular session on Monday, Feb. 14, 2022, where they approved the consent agenda and approved the Order of Elections for school board trustees for May 2022. Applications for a place on the ballot for Clifton School Board trustee must be filed by Friday, Feb. 18.

-Joellen Lamb, of Hamilton, was arrested in Hamilton County on Jan. 28, 2022, for public peace Class C/ public intoxication.

The Bosque County Republican Party will hold a Winter Picnic and Candidate Showcase on Tuesday, Feb. 15 at 6 p.m. at the Texas Safari Ranch Saloon located at 192 PR 4293 in Clifton. Candidates for Congress, State Representative, State Board of Education and local JP will be available for meet and greet. Marisusan Kennedy, who is uncontested for the next Republican County Chairman will also be introduced.

The Lakeside Village Area VFD Ladies Auxiliary will hold a BBQ Dinner on Saturday, Feb. 19 from 4 to 7 p.m.

Texas winters are infamously fickle. Each year, weather conditions range from mild temperatures with high humidity to record-setting rain, sleet and sometimes snow. Sometimes, Texas livestock experience all of these weather conditions within the same week, presenting them with health challenges.

Though weather may have impacted test results at Goodall-Witcher Healthcare last week, a spokesperson for the organization said positive COVID-19 tests within the county continue to decline dramatically.

Mark Welch, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension grain economist, Bryan-College Station, said drought conditions in both hemispheres are raising questions about global crop yields while troops amass in a region that supplies one-third of the world’s wheat.
