The tax office’s access to the state’s Registration and Title System (RTS) has been removed since Tuesday, December 27, 2022, according to the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV).

First Presbyterian Church looks back on local artists

The First Presbyterian Church in Clifton is ringing in the new year by looking back all the artistic talent displayed within its fellowship hall in 2022. The art exhibited during the year came from over 10 artists who are currently members of the church and have diverse experience in creating work in a wide range of mediums.

Newly elected officials swear oaths in Bosque County

Most of the newly-elected public officials in Bosque County were sworn into office on the first official day of their term Sunday, January 1, 2023, in Meridian. One current officeholder, however, was re-appointed to fill the Bosque County treasurer’s seat found to be vacant because the treasurerelect was not able to obtain a bond as state law required.

Meridian-area food drive collected over 26K lbs.

The food drive in Meridian collected over 26,000 pounds of food items during its annual one-day event this year. The North Bosque Helping Hands food pantry was one of several organizations across nine counties that participated in the 33rd annual Food for Families food drive on Friday, November 18.

The Meridian High School band along with the 7thgrade band and the “Not So Jazz – Jazz Band” performed together during their annual Christmas concert on Thursday, December 15. Packing the gym to standing-room only, the audience received a spectacular sampling of the young musical talent the Meridian ISD band department channels through the community.

Residents living in rural communities are encouraged to challenge the accuracy of the National Broadband Map before a January 2023 deadline. Emily Buckman, American Farm Bureau Federation Government Affairs Director, said the new map displays specific location-level information regarding Internet services availability.
