Clifton ISD School Board has four candidates running for three seats this year. Profiles for Dr. Skylar Bizzell, Josh Ritzmann, and Jan Zuehlke were published in last week’s edition of The Clifton Record. The fourth candidate is presented this week.
My name is Courtney Mayfield. I have been a member of the Clifton ISD school board for the past 3 years. My husband has been a teacher, coach, or administrator for the past 23 years. We have 3 children currently enrolled in Clifton ISD. Joe Cotton in the elementary, Pepper in the Middle School, and Dixie in the High School.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with Goodall-Witcher Medical Clinic in Clifton. I also have served as an elementary counselor and president of the PTO for Clifton Elementary. During the past 3 years while serving on the board, Clifton ISD has undergone many changes. Over that time, I have served as a sounding board for faculty and staff, as well as a voice for Clifton parents, students, and community members. I am a proponent of educational accountability and a representative for Clifton teachers and staff in board discussions and decisions.
I believe my experience and knowledge with not only Clifton ISD, but also with Poth ISD and Comfort ISD, serves as a beneficial tool to aid the students and parents in Clifton ISD. I am running for re-election because I have been asked by both Clifton teachers and parents to do so. Thank you for your support in the past and your support in November would be appreciated.
