Clifton Band Student test positive for COVID-19

A Clifton ISD student that was at band practice has tested positive for COVID-19.

The student has not returned to district property since testing positive. It is believed that the student last had contact on campus with #TeamCISD band students and staff on Friday.

Clifton ISD will be suspending all band practices until August.

In accordance with state and national guidance, any person who attended the #TeamCISD band practices during the listed date should monitor their health for signs of symptoms, follow the CDC guidelines for people who had close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 and contact their primary care physician if they develop symptoms.

Close contact is currently defined as: (1) being directly exposed to infectious secretions (e.g., being coughed on); or (2) being within six feet for a cumulative duration of 15 minutes; if either occurred at any time in the last 14 days at the same time the infected individual was infectious.

CISD will be taking steps to sanitize any school facilities where the individual re-ently accessed. We will continue to monitor this situation and will provide additional information as needed.
