The Pot ‘O Gold presented Wreaths Across America groups in Cranfills Gap and Clifton each with $1,000 checks this year. Volunteers at the Pot ‘O Gold keep a list of non-profits they’d like to donate to, and twice a year they vote on which one to benefit.

Texas Super Sweet Onion named latest Texas Superstar

The Texas Super Sweet Onion, or 1015Y, is famous for its sweetness, size and overall good performance as a cool-season crop in the Lone Star State, said a Texas A&M AgriLife expert. These qualities led to that onion’s addition to the Texas Superstar listing, following years of evaluation by Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service horticulturists.

Library receives new computers

The Nellie Pederson Civic Library received a grant from the Ladd and Katherine Hancher Library Foundation in the amount of $8,900 to purchase new computers for the library. The Hancher Library Foundation, located in Columbus, Texas, considers grant requests from public libraries serving populations of 50,000 or less.

Although parents always want to protect their children, studies show that nationally, two out of three car seats are not used correctly. For a car seat to best protect your child, it must be the right seat for your child’s age, weight, height, and developmental stage, and must fit properly in your vehicle while being installed correctly and securely.

Triplets! Bosque County heifer gives birth to three

Clinton and Greta Albrecht had a special delivery on their ranch outside Clifton last month as one of their heifers had triplets – two males and a female. While a heifer giving birth to twins is rare, triplets is almost unheard of, and it’s even less likely that all three would survive.
