Hamilton General Hospital receives Performance Leadership Award

Local Report Meridian As part of the National Rural Health Day celebration this November, Hamilton General Hospital announced it has been recognized with a 2022 Performance Leadership Award for excellence in Outcomes and Perspective. Compiled by The Chartis Center for Rural Health, the Performance Leadership awards honor top quartile performance (75th percentile or above) among rural hospitals in quality, outcomes and patient perspective.

A multi-county Farm and Ranch Seminar for farmers and ranchers conducted by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in District 8 is scheduled for December 8, 2022. The District 8 Farm and Ranch Seminar will be offered at 14 locations across Central Texas.

Commissioners renew evacuation agreement with Comanche Peak

Commissioners renewed an agreement with Comanche Peak Nuclear Plant in Glen Rose that designated Meridian as an evacuation site in the event of a disaster. “If Comanche Peak has an accidental release or something like that and they have to evacuate people within a tenmile radius, Granbury is a reception center for people to go north and Meridian is a reception center at the high school for people ordered to go south,” Bosque County EMC Kirk Turner said.

Bridge construction begins on SH 174

Body
Construction began Tuesday on a new SH 174 bridge near Kimball Bend Park. The new bridge and approaches will enhance safety for bridge traffic, including wider shoulders after construction, according to TxDOT.
