Meridian softball in midst of playoff race

by Brett Voss

Heading into the final three games of the regular season, the Meridian Lady Jacket softball team finds itself right on the edge of the District 10-2A playoff chase.

Sitting in fifth place just a game behind fourth place Bosque County arch rival Valley Mills, the Lady Jackets (5-6 in district, 9-9 overall) hope to still control their own destiny when they visit the Lady Eagles (6-5, 12-9) for a rematch in the season finale April 20.

But first, Meridian must play host to third place Moody (8-3, 11-9) in Tuesday after press time before hosting Jonesboro April 17 after an open date this Friday.
