City receives $894,980 grant to address 2015 flood impacts

The Texas General Land Office (GLO) has awarded the City of Clifton a grant in the amount of $894,980 for the city’s sewer collection system in the east and south quadrants of town. These areas are in the path of storm waters dispersing downhill toward the Bosque River. The City will provide matching funds equal to one percent of the grant amount toward the project activities.

Clifton applied for Disaster Recovery funds in the fall of 2017 to address flooding damage and related impacts that occurred in 2015. The funds were provided by Congress to the State of Texas through the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery program. The program is administered by the GLO at the state level.
