Rattlesnake Roundup strikes in Walnut Springs

Except if you are a herpetologist – a studier of snakes and amphibians – there are not a whole lot of people in Texas that appreciate snakes. Especially the poisonous kinds like the Copperhead, Cottonmouth, Harlequin Coral and Rattlesnake are likely to see the end of a gun if they’re spotted in the yard.

But in Walnut Springs, March and the Rattlesnake Roundup brings is a chance to celebrate the rattling slitherers.

Started by the Lions Club way back when, and taken over by the Walnut Springs Business for Youth in Agriculture in 2011, the Rattlesnake Roundup has grown into a main attraction in the beginning of March.
