County, state and federal funding withered many years back. And, whereas the library is dependent solely on donations and grants from individuals and the city, it is still able to provide a variety of services and a collection that is impressive for the limited budget, thanks to committed employees and an enthusiastic and dedicated board.

It may be a small town library, but it offers big town services to its patrons.

At the Meridian Public Library annual meeting Nov. 28, to which the public is invited, the board presented the financial statements and the budget for next year.
