The Lady Cubs will begin their playoff season on Tuesday, Nov. 3, at 7 p.m., against Grandview at Glen Rose, as the home team. The freshman team garnered a district championship title in the season with a 13-1 winning spree. Lady Cubs

On Tuesday, the Lady Cubs won in three games, 25-11, 25-12, and 25-14.

“This was about the closest game we have played in pre-district form,” said Coach Crystal Langley. “The girls were focused and intense and relaxed. We dominated the net and our defense was solid. Individual Varsity stats include, Paige Luce, 2 aces, 11 assists; Hanna Outlaw: 1 ace, 9 kills, 4 digs; Holly Lodrigue, 5 aces, 4 kills, 10 assists, 7 digs; Kelly Burke, 19 kills, 2 aces; Kayla Luckett, 2 aces; Alexis Sibilia, 2 aces; Laura Wilkins, 5 kills; and Heidi Lodrigue, 5 digs.  “I am so proud of these girls and honestly believe all the hard work will pay off,” said Langley. “We finished the season in third place in district but I am convinced that we have the best team in the district. All four losses we were in the match and 4-6 points from victory. Playing in a tough district will only help us in the playoffs.  We just need to take it one game at a time and right now we are focusing on Grandview. The varsity overall record is 28-12 in the season and 10-4 in District. First in district is Crawford, 13-1; second is Hico, 11-3; and third, Clifton 10-4.

The JV Lady Cubs took down Hamilton in two games, 25-16 and 25-19.

“I am really proud of how the girls finished the season strong,” said Coach Robb Glasscock. “Clifton volleyball has alot to be proud of. I am proud of how they played all season long.”

The Freshmen Lady Cubs won in three hard-fought games, 25-18, 20-25, and 25-23. The team’s district record stands at 13-1 for the district win.

During Tuesday night’s game, offensively, Hannah Bekken, Grace Ballard, and Paige Culp all had critical kills and blocks.  Defensively, Selina Duenes, Hilma Bekken, and Amber Starr kept many kill attempts in play for the team. Serving wise Paige Culp, Kyla Morgan, and Grace Ballard served many points for the team. “The girls finished off the district race as district champs,” added Langley. “Great things are on the horizon and I am blessed to have coached these girls.”
