VALLEY MILLS — As a result of mechanical problems with one of the City of Valley Mills’ two wells, it has become necessary to establish the first phase of the City’s Drought Contingency Plan, according to city officials. This began June 30 and continues until further notice. All users of city water are asked to curtail all unnecessary uses of water until the problem is resolved. Landscape watering is restricted to two days per week under this phase of the plan. Water customers with street addresses ending in an even number (0, 2, 4, 6, or 8) may water on Sundays and Thursdays. Those with street addresses ending in an odd number (1, 3, 5, 7, or 9) may water on Saturdays and Wednesdays. All lawn watering should be done only between the hours of midnight and 10 a.m. or 8 p.m. and midnight, on permitted days. Water customers are asked to practice water conservation in any way possible. CONTACT: City Hall at (254) 932-6146.
