CLIFTON — Bosque county residents, Sue Fielden, Carolyn Cotton, and Therissa Young representing the Daughters of the American Revolution, Elizabeth Crockett Chapter of Granbury, have visited every Bosque County nursing home during the month of November to provide programs of tribute to veterans. They participated in the Nov. 11 program at Clifton Sunset Home, and have presented a DAR Veterans tribute program to all other Bosque county nursing homes. These programs were opened with reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by signing the National Anthem led by Carolyn Cotton. Fielden, Chaplain and Flag chairperson for the Chapter, provided a brief history of Veterans Day. Also included in the programs was the reading of the American’s Creed by William Tyler Page which is recited at every DAR meeting. During the programs Fielden expressed gratitude to the veterans for their service and each veteran was presented with a certificate of appreciation on behalf of chapter, DAR. Poet Sherrod Fielden, read a poem, “The Greatest Generation,” after which he sang, “God Bless the USA.”
